The St James’s Singers present their ever-popular Christmas Concert on Saturday 21st December, at 7.30pm, in St Mary’s Church, Warwick.
This year our Reader is Sunny Ormonde. Sunny has been playing the “outrageous and raunchy Lilian Bellamy” in Radio 4’s The Archers for the past 14 years and has become one of the listeners’ most favourite characters!
The readings will include some inspiring poetry together with prose to capture the spirit of Christmas and to bring a smile to all.
The music will include a blend of familiar and less well known carols, including several favourites for the audience to join in. The choir’s pieces include Torches, one of the 20th century’s most popular Christmas carols by John Joubert (who died aged 91 at the beginning of this year), and haunting works by Morten Lauridsen, Rachmaninov and James McMillan.
