Charity Support

Over their twenty years the Saint James's Singers have performed many times for charity, either through their own concerts or in sharing an evening with other performers, most notably from the Royal Shakespeare Company. So wide and varied have these activities been that it is hard to be sure of exactly how much has been raised.

Charities have included: Cancer Research, Oxfam and  Aids charities, the Acorn Children's Hospice, and local churches, most notably Hampton Lucy. In addition, the choir has provided the music at many of David and Ali Troughton's charity Christmas concerts, The Holly and the Ivy, at the RSC.

A conservative estimate puts the funds raised above £50,000 - an achievement of which the choir is very proud.

Saint James's Singers are affiliated to Making Music, which represents and supports amateur vocal, instrumental and promoting societies throughout the UK.

The St James's Singers are a Registered Charity: No.1093543
