SILVER JUBILEE YEAR
In 2010 the St James's Singers celebrate their 25th anniversary. Over the last quarter of a century they have passed every major choral milestone from Bach's St John Passion to Beethoven's Choral Symphony.
The Messiah, performed at Easter, was the start of a year-long celebration that embraces three major concerts, some charity concerts during the spring and summer and performing at two summer weddings.
The Silver Jubilee Gala Concert takes place at St Mary's Church, Warwick, on Saturday, 2 October. The programme includes Handel's wonderful coronation anthem Zadok the Priest, Fauré's lyrical Requiem, Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus and Bach's huge doubel choir motet Singet dem Herrn.
Bach's Christmas Oratorio is to be performed at the beginning of December, and the tradittional Christmas Concert takes place this year on the 22 December.
